Ashford Glen Preserve, Colonie Neighborhood Trail

Ashford Glen is a 1 mile hike out and back trail, located in Colonie New York off ashford lane. The trail is extremely easy just don’t go in winter or early spring, the trail ices over rather easily. The preserve is roughly 11.5 acre’s and was a gift from Don & louis Porter to the Mohawk Hudson Land conservancy in 2000. Within is an abundance of fauna, including a variety of ferns, wildflowers, and hardwoods. To learn more about the plant life check out “curious by nature” another local blogger who has recorded the plant life of several trails in the capital district.

I found this hike to be a great way to start the morning, a coffee in one hand and surrounded by nature all around. a perfect place to visit if your local, but not worth going out of your way to see. Great for beginners, the elderly, children, and some with disabilities, due to its short distance & lack of hills.
