Free Solo Drills for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu By John Danaher Available on BJJFanatics.com, A Review.

Solo drills by John Danaher initially came out in 2020 for free during the early covid pandemic as a means to help people continue training without gyms being open, and in the process took a lot of the anti kata types within Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and turned them in to pro kata. to be fair all kata is at the end of the day, is a set practice of moves that helps a martial artist memorize a technique when there is no one to practice with. which is what his instructional teaches with a fine tooth comb. This along side Renzo & Danahers “mastering Jiu Jitsu” book, you will come out with a keen understanding of the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu.

The Instructional is broken down in to 4 parts, each about 45 minutes long Where Danaher shows a solo practice, explains the movements and why, followed up by a demonstration with an oki.

Topics include

  1. Bridging, Shrimping, Reverse Shrimping, & Scooting.
  2. Supine Heist, Hip Heisting, Leg Pummeling, Leg Scissoring, High Leg Spin, Sit-Outs, Rolling, Sit Back, & Inside Leg Stand UP.
  3. Guard Standing Up, Foot Work Drills, Stance & Motion, Sprawl & Circle, & Weight Bearing Posture.
  4. Training Your Spine, Getting Better Outside The Dojo: Three Directions of Your Training, Design Your Own Workout, & Pull Up Bar Routine.

If Your someone who enjoys extracurricular Martial Arts Studies, or wants to perfect every aspect of your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu game. I highly Recommend this instructional, even if the price changes its value doesnt and the skills offered here are priceless even if they seem silly at first. I know personally my understanding and practice of BJJ fundamentals improve immensely after using this instructional series.
