
Elite Fighting Promotion Opens up for its third event!

On February 9th, 2025 at the Saratoga Springs City Center in Upstate New York, Elite Fighting Promotions came back to deliver quality entertainment and athleticism for a night packed with intense Muay Thai and MMA matches. This particular event showcased updated graphics to their live stream, as well as a projector system to broadcast fight at the venue should your view be blocked during the most crucial moments of the fight.

Upstate NY was expecting some very undesirable snow storms on the night of the fights, however, there was still a decent turn out for impending weather. The Speckled Pig catered the event with food and beverages, including an absolutely delicious pulled pork sandwich.

Elite Fighting Promotion 3 Opened doors at 5:30, and the announcements began around 630pm, which entailed a heartfelt award of appreciation for the GAMMA (Grappling and Mixed Martial Arts) Association.

The crowd had the privilege of the charismatic Justin T. Manning as ring announcer for the evening. Andrew Elder, one of the main photographers for the Elite Fighting Promotion events, sang the national anthem. The first fight began around 6:50pm.
Chadwick (Blue) v Kunkle (Red) Muay Thai:
Upon Kunkle’s entrance, being a local fighter, there was a big crowd response.
Round 1-Chadwick goes in for a punch, misses and falls down. Kunkle proceeds to knock him down 2 additional times after that. Chadwick manages to get Kunkle against the cage and gets a few head shots in.
Round 2– Both fighters exchange some punches and knees to the body. Fighters kept a safe distance throughout most of the round.
Round 3– Kunkle starts the round with jab to Chadwick’s head. Chadwick fights back and Kunkle falls to the ground, but quickly gets back up. Chadwick gets a bloody nose and trash talks Kunkle in the ring towards the end.
Winner– Majority draw. Both fighters tie.

Ibriham (Blue) v Curry (Red) MMA:
Round 1– The round starts out intense with both fighters thrashing with each other on the ground. Ibrahim maintains mount as Curry desperately fights to get out. Finally, the fighters are back to their feet, with Curry taking Ibrahim back down. Ibrahim gets back on top and maintains control again in mount, and continues to throw in some body shots in the process.
Roumd 2– The fighters begin with some good punches and kicks, and very quickly they’re back on the ground grappling again. Curry has Ibrahim’s back and is going for a rear naked choke. Curry then switches to mount and delivers a few punches to Ibrahims face.
Round 3– The fighters bump gloves, throw a few swings and shortly end up back on the ground. Ibrahim is having a difficult time passing guard. Curry reverses it and is takes mount, attempting a rear naked choke again.
Winner– Unanimous Decision, Curry wins.
Ibrahim was in good spirits but in rough shape by the end.
Kearns (Blue) v Quinn (Red) Amateur 155 lbs Muay Thai :
This was Kearns debut fight. There was a big crowd response for Quinn.
Round 1– Quinn stays hyper focused as Kearns throws some kicks and punches. Quinn pins Kearns against the cage and gives some good knees to the gut. Quinn is also getting in a good amount of head shots, knocking Kearns down to the ground. The round proceeds and Quinn does not ease up.
Round 2– Quinn starts the round with some beautiful combos. Kearns receives a laceration on his stomach somehow. Quinn continues to press Kearns until he is up against the cage. Kearns takes too many hits and falls to the ground. The round proceeds, during the last 10 seconds Kearns is visibly wobbling.
Round 3– Kearns attempts a kick to the head, but Quinn blocks it nicely. Quinn then delivers multiple head shots. Kearns nose begins gushing, and you can see it drip down Quinn throughout the fight.
Winner- Unanimous decision, Quinn wins.

Chiappalone (Red) v Senecal (Blue) 155lb MMA:
Senecal is from Albany, NY while Chiappalone is from Plattsburgh, NY.
Round 1– Both fighters start off hard. Chiappalone begins by storming Senecal, but Senecal comfortably holds his own. Chiappalone falls, but gets back up quickly. He attempts a couple of spinning kicks, but misses. Chiappalone drops to his knees and tries to take Senecal down, but to no avail. Some strong punches were thrown on both ends, but both miss. Chiappalone desperately attempting to get Senecal in the ground, but he continues to hold his own through to the end of the round.
Round 2– Chiappalone begins with a firm punch to Senecals face. Senecal drops to the ground from a kick from Chiappalone. The ref stops the fight to determine if Senecal can continue. Senecal decides to continue and crowd cheers for him. Both fighters end up on the ground shortly after round resumes. Senecal seems visibly agitated. Chiappalone goes in for some messy swings and Senecal makes some good contact from Chiappalones misses. Chiappalone pins Senecal against cage at the last minute, then the fight was broken up by the bell.
Round 3– Senecal’s nose is starts to bleed a bit. Chiappalone has no reservations in going for Senecal, and Senecal has smooth evasive maneuvering. Both fighters simultaneously deliver head shots to each other. Chiappalone pins Senecal against the cage and attempts a choke. After the fight ends, fighters continue to exchange words to each other, there is some obvious tension and beef between the two.
Winner– Unanimous decision, Senecal wins.

Delgado (Blue) v Reith (Red) 135 lb Muay Thai:
Delgado came all the way from Ecuador, and this is his debut fight. Reith comes from Albany, NY area.
Delgado gets relentelessly booed by crowd, while they go absolutely nuts for Reith.
Round 1– Both fighters begin by feeling each other out and gauging technique. Delgado was knocked to the ground, but got back up to his feet just as quick. Reith gets kicked in the groin, and the fight was stopped momentarily. The round proceeds, and Delgado lands some good head shots. Reith tries to defend, but Delgado is very quick. Reith saved by the bell.
Round 2– Reith trying to keep distance while Delgado seems comfortable getting up close and personal. Reith has delivered some good kicks, but Delgado remains hyper focused. Reith begins bleeding from the nose. Reith makes contact with Delgado’s head with a great spinning kick. Round 2 ends.
Round 3– Reith seems very focused this round, both fighters really size each other up at the beginning of this round. Delgado gets in a good combo to Reith’s face. Delgado continues to pummel Reith until he is saved by the bell.

Winner– Unanimous decision, Delgado wins.

Jeffers (Blue) v Beighle (Red) 170lb Muay Thai:
Jeffers is from capital region and Beighle is originally from California, now training in Albany. This was Beighle’s debut fight.
Round 1– Both fighters start out hard, with kicks, knees and punches being thrown like crazy. Beighle overthrew his kick and slipped, but got back up quickly. Jeffers made contact with some good headshots.
Round 2– Both fighters start hard again, attempting to throw each other to the ground. Beighle looks slightly dazed and like he is getting tired. Jeffers delivers a knee to the ribs and Beighle goes down.
Round 3– Jeffers delivers some good kicks and Beighle seems to be a bit wobbly. After yet another body kick, Beighle goes down again. The ref decides to call the fight early on behalf of Beighle.
Winner– Jeffers via technical knockout.
Williams (Red) v Lorence (Blue) 145 lb Muay Thai:
Lorence is from the capital region, with Williams coming from Troy, NY.
Round 1– The fighters charge each other right from the start. Williams delivers some good kicks, but Lorence has some great defense.
Round 2– Lorence delivers some good headshots at beginning of round and tries to back Williams into cage, but Williams uses space of the cage efficiently to avoid being pinned. Lorence is tall with a good reach, making it easier to close in the space. Lorence drops Williams to the ground but he’s saved by the bell.
Round 3– Both fighters throw some jabs at each other. Lorence pins Williams against the cage and drops him to the ground. Lorence looks bored while Williams is trying desperately to make contact. Williams gets thrown and continues to take several combos to the head. Williams got a good punch to Lorence’s face and took him down. Lorence was visibly pissed got back up and immediately did the same to Williams. The fight is called by the bell.
Winner– Unanimous decision, Lorence wins.

Padillo (Red) v Hubabard (Blue) 155 lb Muay Thai:
Hubabard is from Watervelit, NY and Padillo a local from Saratoga, NY.
There was a big crowd response for Hubabard, as well as a mixed response for Padillo.
Round 1– Both fighters were very similar in frame and build. Padillo had some really solid kicks, and Hubabard had great defense. Both fighters were holding back no reservations and going hard against each other.
Round 2– Round starts intense. Padillo knocks Hubabard down, but Hubabard continues to fight relentlessly. Hubabard pins Padillo against the cage. Padillo hangs in there, but is clearly beginning to lose his footing.
Round 3– Hubbard begins preying on Padillo in the 3rd round. Padillo continues to hold his own, but visibly slowing down. Hubbard keeps the pressure on him until the end of fight.
Winner– Unanimous decision, Hubbard wins.

Candelario (Red) v Workman (Blue) Heavyweight Muay Thai:
Workman is from Buffalo, NY, and Candelario is initially from Queens, now from Troy, NY. There was a decent crowd response for Candelario.
Round 1– Workman keeps his eyes fixated on Candelario with a very intimidating focus. Workman delivers a powerful knee to Candelario’s gut, and he goes down but the fight quickly resumes. Workman delivers another powerful kick and brings Candelario down to his knees right before the bell rings.
Round 2– Candelario’s left shoulder seems to be visibly bothering him at beginning of round. Workman will not ease off and keeps closing the distance. Candelario attempts to catch one of workman’s kicks and throw him, but he couldn’t get a good enough grip and Workman stays on his feet.
Round 3– The on-site medic checks Candelario’s left shoulder before round begins. The medic recommends the fight doesn’t go on, and it’s called.

Winner– Workman via TKO.

Santiago (Blue) v Flynn (Red) 170lb Muay Thai:
Santiago is initially from Syracuse and now trains in Schenectady, NY, and Flynn coming from Troy, NY.
Round 1– Both fighters quickly begin to gauge each other’s technique and slowly close the gap. Both fighters deliver simultaneous kicks to each other’s bodies. Flynn is over reaching with some of his punches and exhausting his energy.
Round 2– Several kicks are exchanged from each side. Both fighters seem heavily reliant on their kicks and not as much their swings. Santiago kicks Flynn in the chest and almost takes him down, but he catches his footing.
Round 3– Flynn comes out swinging hard but does not make contact. Santiago is getting in some decent kicks in between Flynn’s punch attempts. Both attempt several low kicks.
Winner– Unanimous decision, Flynn wins.

Olguin (Red) v Turner (Blue) 125lb Muay Thai:
Olguin is initially from LA, now from Saratoga, NY. Turner is from Bronx, and now training in Troy, NY.
Round 1– There is some intense energy and combos right off the rip. Olguin gets knocked down 3x within a short period of time. Turner catches a kick and slams Olguin yet again. Turner came in strong with both offense and defense.
Round 2– Olguin makes direct contact with a jab to Turner’s face. Olguin continues to press Turner and knocks him down. Both fighters make better contact throughout this round.
Round 3– Turner takes a hit to the head and then Olguin gets swept briefly off his feet. Both fighters clearly want this win. Turner knocks Olguin down again. And Olguin returns the favor and does the same.

Winner– 29 to 28 in favor of Turner, 29 to 28 in favor of Olguin, 29 to 28 by split decision, the win goes to Olguin.

McHugh (Blue) v Ruvolo (Red) 140lb A Class Full Rules Muay Thai:
McHugh is from Albany, NY and Ruvolo is from Pennsylvania. McHugh was met with cheers upon his entrance and Ruvolo was booed.
Round 1– McHugh takes Ruvolo down for just a second, but he gets back to his feet swiftly. Ruvolo drops McHugh twice in a short time frame. Both fighters exchange strong punches and kicks, with most making contact from both sides.
Round 2– Both competitors are matched pretty evenly in skill level. Ruvolo goes down hard and the ref stopped the round to count Ruvolo back in, but he was wobbling and ref called it.
Winner– McHugh via KO.

Willlette (Blue) v Samarija (Red) 170lb Muay Thai Fight:
Samaria a returning Fighter to Elite Fighting Promotions, coming from Schodack, NY, is coming off a loss to Lynn Nicholas at Cage Wars MMA via rear naked Choke, and seeks a win via Muay Thai. Willette, from Glens Falls, NY, is also coming off a loss and a long hiatus.
Round 1– The fighters are ready to go, both putting pressure on each other from the get go. Willette goes down, but gets back up and the fight proceeds. Round 1 ends, but ref calls time to check on Willette. Clock resumes.
Round 2– Willette attempts spinning kick, and things ramp up. Samarija slams Willette to the ground and then pins him against the cage. Samarija is not easing up and Willette appears to be in rough shape. Samarija delivers a swift kick to the side of Willette head. Willette is visibly getting tired.
Round 3– Willette does a better job staying on his feet, but Samarija just does not ease off. Willette continues to hold his own and will not go out without a fight. Samarija pins Willette against cage and delivers some head shots. The ref stops the fight and calls it.
Winner– Samarija via KO.

Bailey (Blue) v Abajobir (Red) 165lb Muay Thai Fight:
Bailey is from Albany, training in Troy, NY, with Abajobir coming from Buffalo, NY.
Round 1– Both fighters have quick footwork and quickly exchange combos of kicks. Bailey stays incredibly focused, catching many of Abajobir’s kicks. Abajobir throws some powerful punches, but doesn’t make contact.
Round 2– Strong kicks from both competitors. Both fighters take turns pinning each other against the cage. Bailey takes a gnarly uppercut but seems unfazed. This was a pretty solid match, skill level was pretty evenly matched.
Round 3– Both fighters exchange several combos to each other’s heads. Limbs are flying everywhere. Abajobir gives an elbow to the side of Bailey’s head. Bailey is pinned against the cage and having a hard time getting out. Abajobir knocks Bailey down, but Bailey propels back into his feet in one swift motion.
Winner– Abajobir.
Peterson (Red) v Ortiz (Blue) 185lb MMA Fight, co-main Event:
Peterson is from Watervliet, NY, and Ortiz is from Buffalo, NY.
Round 1– Peterson picks up Ortiz by his leg and drops him hard. Peterson maintains mount while delivering body punches to Ortiz. Ortiz struggles to get out of guard. Peterson comes down with his knee on Ortiz’s neck, and Ortiz manages to get on his stomach. Peterson takes Ortiz’s back. Ortiz is just covering his head as Peterson relentlessly blows shots to the side of his head. Ortiz panics and can’t do anything but cover his head. The ref tells Ortiz to fight back or he’s going to call it, Peterson goes in harder, and after no response from Ortiz the ref calls it.
Winner– Peterson via tko.

Kite (Red) v Oliveira (Blue) 170lb Welterweight Full A Class Rules Muay Thai, co-main Event:
There was a big crowd response for both fighters. Kite is from Albany, NY, and Oliveira is from Falls River, MA.
Round 1– Oliveira delivers a solid kick to the side of Kite’s head only a few seconds in. Kite and Oliveira are in a clench and Kite throws Oliveira to the ground. After a couple seconds on their feet, Kite does the same again.
Round 2– Both fighters charge each other from the beginning of the round. Oliveira went down and may have pulled a muscle in his right leg, he seemed to be slightly weakened. Oliveira goes down again and can’t seem to get back up. The ref calls the fight.
Winner– Kite via TKO.
