The driveway is situated between a popular Applebee’s restaurant and a large gas station/trucking hub, making it a landmark for travelers. As you approach, you’ll notice that the hotel offers not only a warm welcome but also a variety of services aimed at ensuring a comfortable stay, which includes spacious rooms, complimentary breakfast, and easy access to local attractions. Whether you’re passing through or planning a longer visit, the Comfort Inn & Suites provides an ideal stopover for both leisure and business travelers alike.
This hotel would be our first time back using a “Choice Hotel” brand hotel after our somewhat disappointing experience at Quality Inn Rome-Verona NY. Initially, we had high hopes for a comfortable stay, but unfortunately, our expectations were not met. We had previously made a promise to never use this brand again, after how poorly we found the room, which was not only inadequately cleaned but also poorly maintained. Furthermore, there were several unforeseen charges that were added to our account under questionable circumstances, leaving us with a lingering sense of distrust toward the brand. However, we’ve decided to give it another chance, hoping that this particular location will offer a vastly different experience, one that can restore our faith in the “Choice Hotel” reputation and hopefully turn this hesitant return into a pleasant stay filled with fond memories rather than reservations about our decision.
However, this time around the franchise holder certainly treated his business a lot better; from the moment we arrived, we felt like we were home. As we stepped in, we were immediately greeted upon walking in, with a warm smile which was refreshing after a 3 and a half hour drive from NY. The lobby was well lit and tastefully decorated, with comfortable seating arranged around facing the entrance, providing a welcoming atmosphere. Coffee, water, and other drinks were available for free day and night, allowing guests to relax and refresh after their travels. The overall ambiance of the place exuded friendliness and comfort, making our stay incredibly enjoyable. Furthermore, the staff was always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests, ensuring that every guest felt catered to, which was a significant improvement from our previous experiences.

The hotel offers several options for rooms, including a variety of multiple suite options and rooms featuring the classic double queen beds, which are perfect for families or groups traveling together. Prices range from a reasonable $150 for the cozy queen room to $258 for the larger suite option, which provides additional space and amenities for a more luxurious stay. We were fortunate to be placed in a queen room, which was generously provided by the amazing people at DonnyBrookes Fight Promotions for the exciting battle at Barre 15 event. The room was well-appointed, offering a comfortable retreat after a day filled with activities, and the staff’s hospitality truly enhanced our experience, making it a memorable part of our visit.

Unfortunately, the hotel did not include a pool, which was a slight disappointment for us, especially considering how refreshing a swim can be after a long day of travel. However, it did feature a 24-hour fitness center that was impressively equipped with a variety of weights and machines, allowing us to maintain our workout routine even while away from home. We appreciated that the fitness center was always accessible, ensuring that we could squeeze in a late-night or early-morning workout whenever we wanted. Additionally, parking was included for free, which was an excellent perk, and we found plenty of available spots while we were there, despite the hotel being sold out. This made our stay much more convenient, allowing us to come and go with ease without worrying about extra costs or availability.
The interior of the room wasn’t anything too special, however, it was exceptionally clean compared to our last stay at a choice hotel. The room did however have a unique scent to it, we never did figure out where it was coming from. The room had two queen beds, with crisp white sheets freshly cleaned and placed. A table with two chairs nestled in the corner near a window, and a sizable bathroom.

All in all, we would definitely recommend the Comfort Inn & Suites in Montpelier, VT. The hotel met all our expectations, and while it didn’t exceed them, it did a commendable job at providing a comfortable place to stay. The staff was welcoming and attentive, ensuring that our needs were addressed promptly. The rooms were well-appointed, offering a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Moreover, the amenities such as the complimentary breakfast and fitness center added to our positive experience. We appreciated the convenient location, which allowed us to easily explore the charming town and nearby attractions. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay, and we felt that the value for money was excellent.
