Get ready to roll into the new year with a bang as Rolling Stonerz BJJ returns on January 28th, 2024, at the So Blu’Niq venue, 920 Wolcott St, Waterbury, CT. If you thought the last event was epic, brace yourself because this one promises to be even greater. The mat is set, the competitors are primed, and the vibes are higher than ever.
What to Expect
This time around, we’re taking it up a notch. The So Blu’Niq venue offers a perfect setting for an unforgettable night of Cannabis Infused Jiu Jitsu. With ample space, new seating arrangements, and a 180-degree view of the matches, spectators are in for a treat.
Expect plenty of vendors from around the north eastern united states, each vendor offering unique products. including herb, jiu jitsu gear, food and more!
The card boasts around 10 matches that promise to deliver high-intensity, action-packed moments. From Gi to No-Gi, our competitors are gearing up to showcase their skills and vie for the top spot.
Typically there is enough parking, however, leave early and plan ahead as each event seems to get bigger drawing a fresh crowd each time.
The Rules of the Game
Cannabis-Infused Jiu Jitsu
Yes, you read that right! Rolling Stonerz embraces the spirit of celebration with a Cannabis-Infused Jiu Jitsu Tournament/Invitational. But remember, you must be 21 or older to participate. Spectators, you’re more than welcome to join the fun at the price of $40 per ticket at the door.
No-Gi vs. Gi Showdown
The event features both No-Gi and Gi matches. Gi matches follow the IBJJF ruleset, while No-Gi matches go for the exhilarating submission-only format. And if a No-Gi match heads into overtime, buckle up for the Eddie Bravo ruleset.
Rules and Prizes
General Rules
- No-Gi event (except for Gi Super Fights)
- Required attire: shorts/spandex pants and rash guard (optional Gi pants)
- 7-minute tournament matches with EBI rules for overtime
- All submissions are fair play
Superfight Competitors
- No-Gi super fights last for 10 minutes
- Gi super fights follow IBJJF Black Belt rule-based
- Gi super fight competitors get a max of two penalties per match
Weigh Ins and Classes
- Weigh-ins are on the day of the tournament
- Divisional weight classes for both men and women
The 1st place winner in each division walks away with a “HIGH” prize. It’s not just a victory; it’s a celebration!
