Finding the Century Motel
Located in the heart of Cornwall, Ontario off route 138, the hotel is rated as a 2-star hotel, however, it wasn’t all that bad. The hotel is family owned and operated, similarly to a bed and breakfast.
If you are coming from the United States, this hotel is a decent stopping point on your way to either Ottawa or Montreal. The Century Motel is also situated in a good spot, within walking distance of grocery stores, Tim Horton’s coffee shops, and more.
Pulling in, there are just enough parking spaces for a car at each room, and a small courtyard in the center. The hotel also had a strict no smoking policy, however, provided ash trays outside each room with lounge seats for customers.
The rooms still used an old fashioned key, which we haven’t seen in a very long time, but still more secure than many of the keycards people use now. Inside, the rooms weren’t super fancy, but provided enough comfort to get someone through the night or two. The triple room which we had booked, even with three beds still had more space than some NYC rooms.
Our room even had a mud room with closet space, dining table with chairs, a mini fridge, microwave, and full bathroom with bathtub. If needed, the room also included extra blankets and pillows above the closet space, no need to run to the front desk! Of course the normal amenities were included as well with with coffee maker an a TV.
If your looking for additional amenities, you may want to seek out other accommodations. The Century Motel keeps everything fairly simple, but for about $89 a night, its a fair shake and deal.
