Upon arriving, the first thing your going to notice is the hotel is on a hill, and the first time you come here you may even miss the entrance. The parking lot is leveled with 5 tiers, with the second and third having direct access to the 1st and 2nd floors.
We found even loading and unloading our bags on the dolly was a task, as the thing kept trying to roll away from the car. It was quite literally an uphill battle. However the location is key, being right off the highway I-287 and near SUNY Purchase.
Service was great with each worker greeting every guest, and all the workers seemed to be in a very cheerful mood. Throughout our stay we noticed janitorial staff continuously keeping things clean around the lobby.
The rooms were well kept, minus a few spots over the shower and in the restroom. Storage was also in short supply, and even the mini fridge only had a small freezer space and didn’t work very well as my I had to throw away my small ice cream that had melted. There was a decent amount of closet space, and outlets for charging devices which came in handy for all our cameras. The bed was a bit firm, and given its size, the pillows felt a bit small but appeared to be well taken care of and clean. The inhouse thermostat didn’t work, however the unit by the window did. The couch also added a nice space to rest that wasn’t the bed.
Continental breakfast was included, and overall wasn’t too bad and had a nice variety of options. Bagels, hot oatmeal, yogurts, cereal, juices, etc.
The room cost roughly 200 per night, does the job, earning it a 6.5/10 rating from us. It was nothing to phone home about, but was certainly of quality.
