Come on out to participate or spectate the annual Mohawk Hudson River Marathon & Half Marathon on Sunday, October 11th, 2026, beginning at 8:00 AM. The race will begin at 2190 Technology Drive in Schenectady, NY and will finish at the Corning Preserve Boat Launch in downtown Albany, NY.

While it is a couple of weeks out yet, the weather is expected to be in the lows of 43 degrees with a high to 64 degrees making it great for folks who love to run in cooler temperatures. There is a chance of some mild rain showers as well. This is one of the larger races held in the Capital District, with roughly 1,000-5,000 participants. The race is a mainly downhill, point-to-point race with roughly 2/3 of the race on bike paths along the river and the other 1/3 on city streets.
During this race, you will pass the Watervliet Arsenal, which was opened in 1813 and is still a major manufacturer of munitions to date. It is also the nations only large-bore cannon manufacturer. Runners will also have to cross a few railroad crossings during the race. Do not fret, there will be timing mats placed by any tracks so that if there does happen to be a train, there will not be a delay in the runners official time.

There have been a couple of iterations of this race dating all the way back to 1983. However, the Mohawk Hudson River Marathon that we all know and love today dates back to 2005 when the administration was taken over by the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club.
This course is a USAIF certified course, making it a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The Boston Athletic Association breaks down what the qualifying times are based on your gender and age range. To view that information you can visit their page here.
