2026 Run The Runway 5k, Glenville, NY

On September 12, 2026, the Run the Runway 5k event will take place at Schenectady County Airport in Glenville, New York. The event features a 5k race on a flat runway, with registration fees for participants aged 12 and over costing $35-$40. A free 1-Mile fun run is available for children under 12. The race starts at 10:00 AM, with the fun run at 10:45 AM. Attendees can explore LC-130 aircraft and will receive free access to the Empire State Aerosciences Museum. On Saturday, September 12, 2026, come participate or join in spectating the Run the Runway 5k in Glenville, New York, which takes place on the very runways of the Schenectady County Airport. A cleared, flat runway will be the very track for runners, joggers, and walkers alike. Kids under 12 years old are able to participate in the free 1-Mile fun run, and for participants 12 years and older you can sign up for roughly $35-$40. Be sure to register here.

The weather is forecast to be cloudy and between the mid 50’s to low 70’s. Walkers, joggers and runners are all welcome to participate in this unique event. A taxi to the runway will begin transporting runners to the start at 9:00 AM. The race itself will begin at 10:00 AM. The free 1-mile fun run will begin at 10:45 AM.

This airport has roughly 50,000 flights annually. This airport is also where the LC-130’s reside, which are the only type of aircraft equipped to land on the ice in Antarctica. C130s will also be on the runway available for visitors to explore. All participants will also get to enjoy free access to to the Empire State Aero-sciences Museum after their exciting run.
