Located off Canadian highway 15, Ruby Foo’s is an Asian themed hotel on the western side of the city of Montreal. Designed with Asian architecture in mind, this hotel offers a gym/spa, barbershop, pool, and restaurants on the main level alone. The lot is capable of handling a sizable number of cars, and hasn’t been much of a concern while staying, always being able to find a spot.
If you don’t drive don’t worry, Montreal has a beautiful Subway (Metro) system and the hotel is a block away from Namur Station, which can take you to the Greyhound, Amtrak/VIA Rail, and downtown Montreal.
This hotel is located within walking distance of world famous MMA gym, TriStar, home of George St-Pierre and Coach Firas Zahabi.
Last time we stayed we had booked a single queen room that overlooked the pool, while this time opting for the executive suite with the kitchenette included.
We found the kitchenette room preferable with more storage, including a sizeable mini fridge and full stove with 4 burners and an oven big enough to make a pizza. The kitchenette room also came with a full size tub for taking baths, as well as a full size love seat for relaxing before or after a night on the town.
While we enjoyed staying here for the most part, there were some odd smells coming from the hallway, reminiscent of old or spoiled food.
While the gym was larger than most that we stayed at and actually offered a diverse array of equipment, most of it was outdated or not maintained. On an upside the gym does also include showers, locker, sauna, and a steam room, all of which were working fine and maintained.
We ended up spending roughly $300-375 CAD, plus a $200 per room for security…
