After a scorching day of heat in Saratoga Springs, NY the day prior, Mother Nature was on everyone’s side on July 4th, 2026 for the Firecracker 4 Mile Race. With slightly cooler temperatures and some cloud coverage for the runners, it made for great weather for runners and spectators alike.
The race had a great turnout with over 2,500 runners showing up from all over the country to participate and celebrate the 20th Annual Firecracker Run.
The 1st place finisher of the day was 25 year old Tyler Berg coming all the way from Denver, Colorado, finishing with a time of 18:39. 2nd place went to 25 year old Jack Huber from Cambridge, Massachusetts finishing with a time of 19:54. The 3rd place finisher was right on the heels, going to 24 year old Nicholas Bauman from Rochester, New York finishing at 20:01.
The 1st female finisher was right here from the Capitol District hailing from Albany, New York, going to 22 year old Charlotte Richman finishing at 21:11. The 2nd female runner to cross the finish line was 26 year old Kerry Flower, also from the Capitol District hailing from Schenectady, New York, finishing at 22:31. The 3rd top female runner was 30 year old Jamie Lord, from Arlington, Massachusetts finishing at 22:45.
All types of runners came out for the event. From participants dressed in full powdered wigs to pay tribute to our founding fathers, to a man dressed as Captain America, to several patriots running the entirety of the race with their American flags held high, it was a great way to spend your 4th of July morning, and a great reminder to the community this country has fought so hard to create.
There were live bands, vendors selling drinks and snacks, an entire farmers market, and several local businesses that were open to cater to spectators coming out to the event. The day ended with additional live performances as well as a firework show. What a fantastic way to celebrate the country’s 250th year!
