Looking to add some crunch to your favorite dip or spread? Look no further! These delicious homemade pita chips are the perfect accompaniment to any snack or gathering. With just a handful of ingredients and a few simple steps, you’ll have crispy and flavorful pita chips that will impress your friends and family.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients
- ½ cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon dried chervil
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 12 pita bread pockets
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic salt, chervil, basil, and ground black pepper.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each pita bread into 8 triangles.
- Arrange some pita triangles in a single layer on each of the prepared baking sheets. Brush the triangles with the oil mixture. Note that not all triangles will fit, so set the remaining ones aside.
- Bake the pita chips on two racks of the preheated oven for about 7 minutes, or until they are lightly browned and crispy. Remember to switch the baking sheets halfway through for even cooking.
- Once the pita chips are done, transfer them to a serving platter. Repeat steps 4 to 5 with the remaining triangles and oil mixture.
- Serve the homemade pita chips alongside your favorite dip or spread, and enjoy!
