Hammer Challenge Series Fight Night 4 streams live through the HCS Grappling YouTube Membership on Friday, July 31, with Bobby Riordan vs. Jaden Duplessis leading a ten-match submission grappling lineup.
The Hammer Challenge Series returns on Friday, July 31, with HCS Fight Night 4, continuing the promotion’s growing series of membership-exclusive submission grappling events.
The action is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET through the HCS Grappling YouTube Membership Channel. Fight Night 4 is also the first of three events announced as part of the promotion’s summer schedule, followed by Fight Night 5 on August 14 and HCS 36 on August 29.
Previous Hammer Challenge Series Fight Night events have created opportunities for established regional competitors, developing professionals and first-time HCS athletes to compete in the same intimate environment. Fight Night 4 follows that same formula, but the stakes surrounding several matches reach beyond a single victory. Wildcard champions will collide, undefeated records will be tested and competitors chasing future tournaments will have another opportunity to improve their position inside the Hammer Challenge Series.
Bobby Riordan and Jaden Duplessis Meet in Wildcard Champion Clash
The most recognizable matchup on the announced card places Bobby Riordan against Jaden Duplessis.
Both competitors have earned HCS Wildcard Championships and recently entered the promotion’s demanding 185-pound Grand Prix. Now, instead of navigating a tournament bracket, Riordan and Duplessis will meet directly in a match that could influence future opportunities for both athletes.
Riordan has repeatedly shown that he can end a match without needing much time. During a previous HCS Fight Night appearance, he secured an under-two-minute guillotine finish in a performance that immediately reestablished him as one of the promotion’s most dangerous returning competitors.
Duplessis represents another difficult test. He has already experienced the pace and pressure of major Hammer Challenge Series competition and now gets an opportunity to defeat one of the promotion’s most established names.
There is no bracket to survive and no second match waiting afterward. This time, the two Wildcard champions have one opponent and one opportunity to make their case.
Shawn White and Chris Brancone Put Their Momentum on the Line
One of the card’s most compelling matchups features undefeated prospect Shawn White against HCS Wildcard Champion Chris Brancone.
The promotion has presented White and Brancone as two of its fastest-rising competitors. Each appearance has increased expectations, but Fight Night 4 will force one of them to surrender momentum.
Brancone enters with the experience of winning an HCS Wildcard opportunity. White enters with an unbeaten record and the chance to prove that his success can continue against a recognized champion.
Regional grappling needs matches like this. Prospects cannot develop by remaining separated, and champions cannot strengthen their position without facing the next athlete attempting to take it.
Tommy Red Welcomes Jack McCaffrey to the Professional Level
Tommy Red vs. Jack McCaffrey brings together two competitors entering Fight Night 4 from very different positions.
Tommy Red has competed across both the amateur and professional scenes and returns as an HCS Wildcard Champion. His experience gives him an immediate advantage against an opponent preparing to make his professional debut.
McCaffrey, however, has already demonstrated that he belongs in meaningful Hammer Challenge Series matches. His performance during the team competition at HCS 33 helped earn him this opportunity, and a victory over an experienced opponent would immediately establish him as someone to watch in the professional division.
For Red, the assignment is to remind the audience why experience still matters. For McCaffrey, it is an opportunity to prove that one breakout performance was only the beginning.
Dallas Ragusa Continues His Push Toward the 135-Pound Grand Prix
Veteran competitor Dallas Ragusa returns against HCS newcomer Matthew Manna.
Ragusa enters with more than another Fight Night victory on his mind. Each performance could affect his positioning ahead of the anticipated 135-pound Grand Prix scheduled for September at the Hudson Fitness Expo.
That makes Manna’s promotional debut especially dangerous for the returning veteran. A newcomer has less history inside the HCS circle, but also less pressure and fewer expectations. Manna can introduce himself to the Hammer Challenge Series audience by defeating an experienced opponent already fighting toward a larger goal.
Ragusa needs to protect his position. Manna has an opportunity to disrupt it immediately.
Road to Rahway Points Add Importance to the Undercard
Fight Night 4 will also contribute to the larger competitive picture surrounding the HCS Academy Season and the Road to Rahway.
Nick Massaro and Andrew Osadchuk meet after making their respective HCS Team Dual debuts. The matchup carries individual bragging rights, but the result could also influence the developing playoff race.
Chris Collins, representing Hammer Nation Fight Team, returns as an Ironman Champion against John Richter of SAGA Jiu Jitsu. Richter enters following a Submission of the Night performance, while Collins will attempt to maintain the momentum that helped him capture Ironman recognition.
SAGA will also be represented by Schaden Smith, who faces Jalin Badillo. Smith is fighting to collect valuable Academy Season points, while Badillo is attempting to remain active and work his way back into consideration for the HCS Amateur Invitational later this year.
These matches may appear lower on the lineup, but their consequences can extend well beyond July 31. Every victory strengthens an athlete’s position. Every point can affect an academy’s path forward.
Returning Athletes Meet HCS Newcomers
The remaining portion of the card gives several competitors their first chance to establish themselves within the Hammer Challenge Series.
Tyler Millas returns against newcomer Sean Campbell in a matchup expected to produce a fast pace and frequent scrambling exchanges. Millas owns the HCS experience, while Campbell arrives with an opportunity to immediately defeat someone already familiar with the promotion’s format.
Jaylen Huertas and Khan Asilbekov will both make their first appearances in an amateur matchup. With neither athlete carrying an established HCS history, the match offers a clean introduction for two developing competitors attempting to build their names.
Ben Kelly also returns to the circle against Alexis Villegas. Limited promotional information has been released beyond the matchup itself, but the pairing adds another unpredictable contest to an already deep card.
HCS Fight Night 4 Continues the Promotion’s Development Model
The Hammer Challenge Series has built its regional following by providing more than occasional tournament appearances. Its Fight Night events allow competitors to remain active, recover from previous defeats, test themselves against new opposition and earn their way toward larger opportunities.
The promotion’s official website describes HCS as the “House Party of Grappling,” an identity reflected by its close atmosphere and regular mix of experienced champions, regional standouts and athletes still attempting to become known.
