Hudson Fit Expo returns Sept. 12 with an 11-hour fitness festival at St. Peter’s Prep featuring strength sports, Jiu-Jitsu, sumo, hybrid competition, group workouts, wellness activations and more than 100 fitness brands.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Hudson Fit Expo 2026 will turn St. Peter’s Prep into a full-day fitness festival on Saturday, Sept. 12, bringing eight live competitions, group workouts, recovery and wellness experiences, vendors and several recognizable fitness personalities together in Jersey City.
The third annual Hudson Fit Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Saint Peter’s Prep James F. Keenan, S.J. Field, 201 Marin Boulevard. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. The official ticket listing currently prices advance admission at $50, with gate admission rising to $75. Paid parking will be available, and attendees under 14 must enter with a parent or legal guardian.

For spectators who enjoy more than one corner of the fitness world, that breadth is the attraction. Hudson Fit Expo combines powerlifting, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, sumo wrestling, the NJ Fit Body Challenge, the Calisthenics Cup, a Hybrid Challenge, Strength Wars and Strict Curl Rising Bar competition on the same day.
Hudson Fit Expo Puts Competition at the Center
Fitness expos can easily become rows of booths with competitions happening somewhere in the background. Hudson Fit Expo has built the opposite model.
Athletes remain central to the event.
The current program includes eight competitive disciplines, giving spectators the opportunity to move from heavy squat, bench and deadlift attempts to submission grappling, sumo, calisthenics and hybrid fitness without leaving the venue. Hudson Fit Expo also promotes the event as an opportunity for newer athletes to discover sports they may never have considered competing in themselves.

That makes the Hudson Fit Expo Jersey City event particularly useful for families and younger athletes. Someone who arrives interested in bodybuilding may leave fascinated by powerlifting. A recreational gym member may watch a hybrid race and decide to train for one. A spectator unfamiliar with grappling can watch Hammer Challenge Series athletes compete under submission-focused rules.
The event succeeds if people do more than watch.
It gives them options.
Hammer Challenge Series Brings HCS 37 to Hudson Fit Expo
Combat-sports fans have a particularly strong reason to arrive early.
Hammer Challenge Series will host HCS 37 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the Hudson Fit Expo schedule billing the segment as Jiujitsu Showdown 14C and advertising action-focused grappling superfights.
HCS has already worked with Hudson Fit Expo before, but the 2026 event moves the promotion into the larger St. Peter’s Prep setup. The submission-grappling promotion has built its identity around short regulation periods, active engagement and overtime rules designed to produce decisive outcomes rather than extended point-management matches.

JMurrayAthletics is publishing a dedicated HCS 37 Hammer Challenge Series preview covering the promotion, its rules and the competitors expected in Jersey City. That article should serve as the combat-sports companion to this broader Hudson Fit Expo guide.

The two articles should remain separate for search purposes. This page targets Hudson Fit Expo 2026, while the HCS story targets people specifically searching for HCS 37 Hudson Fit Expo and Hammer Challenge Series Jersey City.
Powerlifting Brings Serious Weight to Jersey City
Strength sports occupy a major portion of the Hudson Fit Expo schedule.
The event includes a full powerlifting component centered around the squat, bench press and deadlift, while Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate also lists its RPS Insurrextion meet at the St. Peter’s Prep site on Sept. 12. The RPS entry page identifies Hudson Fit Expo, Gaglione Strength and several strength-industry partners as part of the event.

That means spectators will see more than exhibition lifting.
Competitors will arrive chasing legitimate totals, records and meet results.
For people who normally consume strength sports through short social-media clips, seeing a powerlifting meet live changes the experience. The weight on the bar becomes easier to appreciate when the platform is directly in front of you and the entire crowd knows an athlete has one attempt to make the lift count.
Strength Wars Tests Athletes Outside Their Specialty
Strength Wars adds another dimension.
Hudson Fit Expo describes the competition as a meeting point for bodybuilders, powerlifters, CrossFit athletes and other strength competitors, forcing athletes from different backgrounds into challenges that may not perfectly match their normal training. The event has partnered with Generation Iron around the format.
That concept creates obvious entertainment value.
A powerlifter may dominate one movement but struggle when conditioning enters the equation. A CrossFit athlete may possess the better engine but find out what happens when pure strength becomes the deciding factor.
Instead of asking who is best within one sport, Strength Wars asks how well different athletes can adapt when the competition moves outside their comfort zone.
Hudson Sumo Showdown Adds a $250 National Champion Challenge
One of the more unusual competitions at Hudson Fit Expo 2026 comes from the New York sumo community.
The United States Sumo Federation lists The Hudson Sumo Showdown for Sept. 12, with competitors getting an opportunity to test themselves across divisional competition before a special challenge involving U.S. middleweight national champion Josh Wade.
The promotion has attached a $250 bounty to that challenge. Division winners can attempt to defeat Wade; if a challenger succeeds, that athlete claims the money and the event’s honorary national-champion distinction. If Wade wins, the bounty contributes toward his travel for the Sumo World Championships in Azerbaijan.

Sumo also gives Hudson Fit Expo another sport that many spectators may have watched without ever seeing in person.
That fits the larger theme of the event: put different competitive communities next to each other and give fans a reason to explore.
Hybrid, Calisthenics and NJ Fit Body Expand the Field
Not every competition revolves around maximal strength.
The Hybrid Fit Challenge tests strength, endurance and conditioning, while the Calisthenics Cup puts bodyweight strength and control at the center of competition. The NJ Fit Body Challenge will put bodybuilding and strength athletes through multiple workout rounds before crowning male and female champions.
NJ Fit Body adds an additional incentive: its Eventbrite listing says the male and female winners receive automatic entry into the 2027 Fit Body Show.
That variety prevents Hudson Fit Expo from becoming a one-dimensional strength event.
Different body types and training philosophies get their own opportunity to succeed.
The Burn District Lets Spectators Become Participants
Fans do not have to spend the entire day standing behind a barricade.
Hudson Fit Expo’s Burn District runs group workouts from 9 a.m. through the early afternoon. The current official agenda lists Pilates at 9 a.m., HIIT 4 Humanity at 10, Biceps & Bagels at 11, boxing with Rumble Boxing at noon and a hybrid class with Alpha Fit Club at 1 p.m.
That participation element separates an expo from a conventional sporting event.
You can watch athletes compete, then train yourself.
For someone considering a new class format or training style, Hudson Fit Expo creates a low-commitment opportunity to experience it before walking into an unfamiliar gym on another day.
Larry Wheels Headlines the Guest Lineup
Larry Wheels headlines the current Hudson Fit Expo guest list.
The official event listing also includes NDO Champ, John “Goob” Dorsey and Wendy Fortino, giving attendees several personalities from different parts of the fitness industry to meet throughout the day.
Hudson Fit Expo specifically advertises a Larry Wheels meet-and-greet, adding another draw for strength-sports fans who may initially buy a ticket because they recognize the name rather than because of one particular competition.
Generation Iron reported that the event expects hundreds of competitors and has deliberately positioned competition—not celebrity appearances—as the core attraction.
That balance works.
The recognizable names bring attention.
The athletes give people a reason to stay.
More Than 100 Brands, Samples and Fitness Gear
The Vendor Village runs alongside the competitions and gives attendees access to fitness, wellness and lifestyle brands throughout the day.
Hudson Fit Expo’s official website advertises more than 100 fitness brands, while the event listing highlights samples, giveaways, raffles, product demonstrations and brand activations.
The current agenda lists the Vendor Village from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., so spectators interested in products or giveaways should not wait until the evening to explore it.
That also makes the event useful for athletes beyond entertainment. Large expos give consumers an opportunity to compare equipment, food products, supplements and recovery services without visiting multiple retailers or relying entirely on online marketing.
Wellness and Recovery Get Their Own Space
Hudson Fit Expo extends beyond training and competition through its Chamber wellness area.
The official site lists experiences including cold plunges, saunas, stretching, hydration, IV services and PNOE or VO2-related testing among the offerings expected at the expo.
Those services make the wellness area another part of the event to explore, although athletes should evaluate any testing, IV service or recovery product according to their own needs rather than assuming every expo offering belongs in their training program.
The larger point is variety.
Hudson Fit Expo wants someone to spend most of the day there, not visit one booth and leave.
A Fitness Event With a Community Component
Hudson Fit Expo also connects ticket sales to a broader cause.
The organization says a portion of sponsorship and ticket revenue will support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, adding a fundraising component to the Sept. 12 event.
The event’s broader mission centers on exposing people—particularly younger athletes—to sports and training communities they may not otherwise encounter.
That mission makes sense in Jersey City.
Powerlifters, grapplers, bodybuilders, hybrid racers and casual gym members often train within completely separate communities even when they live only a few miles apart.
Hudson Fit Expo puts them on the same field.
Why Hudson Fit Expo 2026 Is Worth Attending
The easiest way to sell Hudson Fit Expo is not to identify one headline attraction.
It is the number of things happening with one ticket.
A grappling fan can arrive for HCS 37, walk over to powerlifting, watch sumo, meet Larry Wheels, take a boxing class, explore the vendor village and finish the day around another competition they may never have planned to watch.
A powerlifter can do the opposite.
That crossover gives the event more value than a single-sport ticket.
Hudson Fit Expo does not require spectators to already understand every competition. It gives them an opportunity to discover one.
And with eight competitive sports scheduled across an 11-hour day, there should rarely be a point when nothing is happening.
