
The marathon in New York City was truly an unforgettable experience. After completing the grueling 9+1 qualifying races, we were thrilled to participate in the NYC marathon. The energy and buzz surrounding the event were absolutely incredible, and being able to run through the streets of New York, surrounded by fellow runners and enthusiastic spectators, was a moment to cherish.
While working towards the marathon, we had the opportunity to witness various other races taking place in the city, each with its own unique atmosphere and challenges. It was a true celebration of running, and it left us with a profound appreciation for the running community and the wonderful city of New York.

Of all the races we have had the pleasure of running, these were our favorites! It’s truly remarkable to reflect on the numerous memorable races we’ve participated in and the incredible experiences they’ve provided. The Bronx 10 Mile

The Brooklyn Half Marathon
An incredible event that captures the essence of the vibrant borough of Brooklyn. This race starts at the picturesque Prospect Park and takes runners on a remarkable journey through the entire borough until it reaches the iconic Coney Island by the ocean.
As the largest half marathon in the nation, it attracts elite runners akin to those in the renowned NYC Marathon. The excitement doesn’t end with the race itself; the event features a pre-race party, usually held the day before, and offers an array of festivities on the day of the race, including music, giveaways, and so much more. Midnight Run!
The New Year’s night celebration organized by NYRR is a highly anticipated event each year. As an enthusiastic volunteer, I had the unique opportunity to actively participate in this grand occasion, which was just as fulfilling as taking part in the race itself.
From witnessing the spectacular fireworks illuminating the night sky to observing the iconic NYRR ball drop, every moment was nothing short of mesmerizing. Cheering on and supporting the countless runners as they embarked on their New Year’s resolutions filled me with an undeniable sense of joy and camaraderie.
It’s important to note that this event is carefully secured, and access is typically granted to workers, volunteers, and participants. If you plan to spectate at this particular race, I would recommend planning ahead and inquire with NYRR to become better informed with where and how you can view the race. The atmosphere was simply electric, and being a part of it made this experience one of my all-time favorites, leaving an indelible impression that will be cherished for years to come.
